REAL Weddings
After walking around all day with a ring in his pocket, Ronnie finally felt the perfect moment as he and Kelly walked around the Boston Public Gardens before a dinner reservation. When Kelly sat down by the water to take in the view, Ronnie seized the moment and got down on his knee to propose. Since both Ronnie and Kelly are from Vermont, with Sugarbush Resort being between both their hometowns, it was the obvious choice. They loved that their friends an family could all stay on site to enjoy an entire weekend of celebrating.
With their wedding being held at a ski resort, and Ronnie being an avid skier, they knew they wanted to incorporate skiing into the wedding somehow. They found a pair of antique, wooden skis that they decided to use for guests to sign instead of a traditional guest book and they could become something the couple can display in their home forever.
It was important to both Kelly and Ronnie to include personal, family touches. Kelly’s grandfather performed the ceremony, and they invited all of their aunts, uncles, and grandparents that celebrated a milestone anniversary that year to come out to the dance floor to their wedding song. Kelly and Ronnie’s advice to other couples planning a wedding is: “Right before the rehearsal, let go and enjoy the next couple of days. There is nothing that you can do to prevent what could or will happen on your wedding day. Know that you have done everything you can to prepare for this day.”
