Real Wedding | Gina & Tim

GinaTim Main2

Gina and Tim frequently "get away from it all" at Gina's father's log cabin in the woods of Vermont, and they knew they wanted their friends and family to have that same feeling at their June wedding. Their whimsical, rustic celebration started with an intimate ceremony under a covered bridge. With the sound of the babbling brook beneath them, and those closest to their hearts around them, Gina and Tim exchanged "I dos". The elegant Hermitage Inn provided the perfect backdrop for the rest of the day's festivities. Here are some highlights from Gina;

HOW AND WHERE DID YOU MEET? Tim and I met in high school. We were in the same grade and had the same group of friends.

WHAT WAS THE PROPOSAL LIKE? It was Halloween 2010. I came home to prepare for a Halloween dinner we were supposed to have with my family. When I came home Tim asked me to come into our living room because he wanted me to see a pumpkin he had carved. The pumpkin was in the fireplace with the un-carved side facing forward. I turned the pumpkin around only to find the words, "Will you marry me?" carved across the pumpkin. When I turned around Tim was on his knees and had a box opened with a ring inside. The rest is history:)

WHAT WAS YOUR THEME/COLOR PALETTE? Vintage elegance with whimsical rustic touches. Ivory, pink, and gold.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DETAIL FROM YOUR WEDDING? The lace from my mom's wedding dress wrapped around my bouquet. Also, my great-grandmothers gold chain that I wore around my neck.

WHAT WAS THE SONG YOU HAD YOUR FIRST DANCE TO? "Lost in this moment" Big and Rich

HOW DID YOUR VENDORS HELP MAKE YOUR WEDDING DAY PERFECT? Our vendors were like family to us. They were not just performing services for us but became such an integral part of our day. We carefully chose each vendor that we truly connected with as people and not just the services they were providing. In the end it made the difference between ordinary to unique touches that were personal to us.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE OTHER COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDING? Do not over plan. Leave room for things to happen naturally. We picked June for our wedding because it is typically supposed to have "predictable weather". The morning of our wedding there were torrential downpours. We were supposed to get married outside, but with only hours left to setup before the ceremony we had to change plans. So we decided to use the covered bridge that was on the property. It was even better then we expected and it became such a magical place to get married. We could have never planned for this! You have to let go and let your story unfold on it's own!
